Wine, oh Wine!

The best wines are the ones we drink with friends- Anonymous
To kick off Fall I visited a winery a few weeks ago with my girlfriend and some close friends. The Warwick Valley & Distillery in Warwick, NY was quite a pleasure, even though it ended up being 90 degrees, we still had a blast. The winery is known for their picnic like atmosphere. They allow you to bring your lawn chairs, blankets, listen to the live band, and enjoy a glass of wine with your friends and family. The tasting options offered were so vast, with everything from wine, hard ciders, and distilled fruit liqueurs. My favorite would be their Harvest Moon white wine, which can also be pair with the fruit liqueur. A fun aspect is that all the tasting can be mixed and matched. You can add the fruit liqueur to wine or the ciders to make your own personal drinks. If you happen to get your hands on a bottle of their Black Currant Cordial you can try this drink mix:
                        Black Currant Royale
3 ounces Prosecco or Doc’s Draft Hard Apple Cider
1 1/2 ounce American Fruits Black Currant Cordial
                                Pour Cordial in Champagne flute
                                Add Champagne or Cider
Along with having so many tasting options, The Warwick also had their very own scenic orchard for apple & pear picking. That day we took the kids apple picking, which was also my first time. It was definitely picturesque to walk the orchard and see their excitement when they picked an apple. It gave a nostalgic feeling of being a kid and having the simple things bring you so much joy. Out of all the wineries that i have visited I would have to say that this was one of my favorites. The feeling of a Sunday picnic accompanied by the adult beverage for the parents made it the best of both worlds.
